Application Support Analyst

Hello.  

I thought I would use this as an opportunity to tell a little bit more about my professional career. 

I attended Grand Valley State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. I also received a Business Minor. While employed as an accountant early in my career, I also took classes in accounting.

After college, I began working as an accountant at a bank, where my responsibilities included maintaining the General Ledger and collecting on non-sufficient fund checks. As I became a Senior Accountant of EDP (Electronic Data Processing), my responsibilities also included purchasing, installing and configuring hardware and software as well as maintaining the network. I was also responsible for setting up the network, hardware, and software at any new branch office locations.

After seven years, I decided to explore opportunities working strictly in Information Technology. I felt this had more opportunities for me and was always interested in technology. I soon found employment as a Help Desk technician, where my team earned an Administrative Support-Team Achievement Award. After a few years I became the primary support administrator and subject matter expert (SME) for the Help Desk ticketing system in IT Service Management. For over 15 years I was the SME for IT Service Management, as well as for other solutions such as Workload Automation, monitoring, and other 3rd party software solutions. These solutions included CA Service Desk, EasyVista, CA Workload Automation (AutoSys), Crystal Reports, and Business Objects.

 

I then moved on to another organization, where I was the SME for the companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system used by nearly every area of the company, including Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Service, and Accounting. Along with the ePASS ERP solution, I was also the SME for other solutions such as Spiceworks, D-Tools, and Crystal Reports. I have developed various scripts to automate processes in UNIX and Windows using the vi editor, HTML, SQL, Windows Batch and PowerShell. 

In my most recent position, I have had the opportunity to support a variety of other applications for countless members, agents, and providers. My experience, as well as paying close attention to detail, has helped me earn several awards for Curiosity and Collaboration. I have also been informed several times that I am looked up to as a leader by my team members.

In my career, I have had the opportunity to be the Primary Technical Lead and the Project Lead in multiple Product Selection and Implementation projects. These were required to replace existing applications, such as used for ITSM, ERP, and CRM.

I most enjoyed making a positive impact for my colleagues by developing reports to provide valuable information or scripts to automate processes and remove manual tasks. I soon found myself looking for ways I could make things easier and more efficient for my customers.
